Valentine’s Day!  The most ‘advertised’ romantic day of the year.  Even for the most unromantic among us, VD has a way of reminding you of your single status.  Follow our tips for surviving, conquering and celebrating this Valentine’s Day!

  1. If You Feel like You Are Missing Out

Call the florist, order some flowers, write a note and organise delivery — to you! Even better, send them to your work from an anonymous admirer. A bit of self-love never hurt anyone.

  1. Retail Therapy

For all you men out there craving the latest techno gadget, VD is the perfect day to lash out and treat yourself. Women don’t generally require a reason to shop but use Valentine’s Day as the perfect excuse to buy that new outfit you have been eyeing off.

  1. Love Is All We Need

Do you have a single friend that you know will be struggling today? Send them flowers and tell them you love them. In fact, Valentine’s Day has an unwritten rule that this is the day you tell all your friends and family that you love them.

  1. Couch Time

Hell No! Organise a night out with your single pals. Go for dinner, go dancing, drink cocktails. A word of caution — steer clear of happy-couple-locations such as niche restaurants. The love-gazing couples will be in full force and will have you running for the safety of your couch.  A pub is an ideal location.

  1. Meet Your Next Valentine at An Event

The perfect night to head out and meet others looking for their Valentine.  You will be sure to find a date or maybe even next year’s Valentine.

Choose an event:

  • Fast Impressions is running singles events – ‘Love Bites’ for the over 35 age group and ‘Passion Playground’ for ages 21–39.  The Fast Impressions website has the full details.
  • RSVP is hosting singles parties in every capital city!  They’re one of the biggest online dating companies in Australia — you will be sure to spot some eligible singles.
  • Five In Five kicks off on Valentine’s Day.  It’s the perfect way to combine dating and charity.  Head down to Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne or Hugos bar in Sydney to join the other singletons who will be dating 5 in 5 weeks.

You don’t even need a wing-man or wing-woman — a lot of those attending come by themselves.

  1. Get Busy Dating Online

If you are not online dating – what are you waiting for?  We can give you a kick-ass online dating profile that will gurantee you get the attention you deserved –

  1. Do Something for Others

Why not take the money you would have used for a valentine’s gift and give to a worthy cause? Helping others is always a cause for celebration.

Wherever you find yourself this Saturday, have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
