WEEK 18 – THE 52 WEEK LOVE PROJECT

Welcome to Week 18 of The 52 Week Love Project. The project designed to recognize 52 inspiring humans who are giving back to our community – whether in a small way or by creating a movement for change and inspiration.

The project will showcase LOVE at it’s finest, share their stories – what they do and why they do it!  It’s an opportunity for us to find out what inspires them and what keeps them going when challenges or self-doubt assail them.

MEET: Meicha Geohagen-Moguche, The Founder of Radical Woman Conference.

When asked if she has a quote or motto that she lives by, this was Meicha’s response:

‘Comparison is a thief of authenticity’

‘We are all unique, we all have a special gift to share with the world but when we try to be others and compare ourselves we lose our authenticity and truly will never shine as we are supposed too.  The longer we take to be ourselves the longer things will take to fall in place, no one can ever do what I have been called to, they may try but they will not be 100% successful.  So I encourage people to embrace their own story, no matter how “messed-up” and un-pretty it may seem, it’s what you need to share to break barriers for those around you.  Share it from a place of power, not pain. We all have a story to share.’

WHERE DID IT ALL BEGIN?

Radical Woman Conference began with an idea in 2016, an idea to bring women and men with radical stories together on one platform to inspire others who need to break free from the shackles of shame, frustration and regrets.  To take up dreams that had been forgotten and go higher in life and business. Although I had it all worked out on paper, I struggled a bit with the name, until I researched further what radical really means. When we look up radical on Google there are 4 definitions and one could glance and say oh it means an activist, which I am but I needed to go deeper, so I read on.

The 4th definition listed states that a radical is a group of atoms moving together as one unit within an organism to change it.  The radical woman movement is a group of women and men united together as one moving together to share a message of hope and inspiration throughout the four corners of the earth starting with the African Continent.  A woman empowered is a family empowered, and a community and ultimately a nation.   We celebrate the fact that our speakers are drawn from many countries to name a few-South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, UK, Jamaica, and the US. Radical Woman Conference launched on February 4, 2018 in Accra Ghana. Since then we have hosted in 2 countries (x3) locations.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

We inspire and challenge women and men to live their best life by picking up and dusting off the dreams they had in the past that they are yet to accomplish due to life situations and circumstances such as, not finishing school, starting a family or having financial or health setback.

We encourage them to pursue now by sharing stories of those women and men who are pursuing despite life circumstances, we highlight those who has have great successes.  We do this by providing inspiration, training and strategies during our conferences.  We believing in addressing the whole person so all aspects are addressed, faith, family, career/business.

A huge part of Radical Woman Conference is to always give back. In each location we identify an organization or group to highlight and give back.   We have an orphanage in Ghana that we featured and adopted and I am happy to be heading back in February 2019 to host an amazing fundraising gala to assist the Orphanage to purchase a much needed school bus.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU?

As a young girl I was a dreamer.  I am inspired and motivated by the needs I see around me.  As a Master Level Social Worker I have worked with the poor, rich, very sick and the destitute.  I always wanted to do more, share more and give more than just in my local neighborhood.  There is a lot of need in the world; there are also equally a lot of people with good intentions, however good intentions never get the work done. It takes action. I am God motivated, I want to be an avenue he can use to bring his love throughout the world.

HOW DO YOU GET PAST SELF DOUBT?

To get past self-doubt I just start.  I surround myself with inspiration through books, other people’s experience and activate my faith. Taking action always helps to move one from the grips of self-doubt, taking our eyes off of self and reaching out to others.  Sometimes it’s not easy especially when the need is greater than resources in hand, one then can question am I really cut out for this? But it’s so important to surround oneself with 5 core people I talk about in my book. People who will support you but most importantly hold you accountable. People you can be real with  and people who will pray with and for you.  But, ultimately it takes a true connection with the one who gave us these big dreams in the first place-God.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHERS WHO WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE/CHANGE IN THE WORLD?

‘My advice for anyone who want to make a difference in the world is first congratulations, that’s awesome. Now, get up and start moving.

Pick an issue, pick an area-community or country and pray for guidance. Then start before you are ready.  From my trips to different African and European countries, I have to understand that people are not interested in perfection; they just want someone who is authentic and truly wants to make an impact.  Sometimes it’s just a listening ear, or pointing in the right direction that makes the difference for someone between despair and knowing that they are good enough and they matter and their dreams matter.  Sometimes it’s just seeing someone else up close that has refused to give up.’

DO YOU HAVE A QUOTE OR EXPRESSION THAT YOU LIVE BY?

‘Comparison is a thief of authenticity.

We are all unique, we all have a special gift to share with the world but when we try to be others and compare ourselves we lose our authenticity and truly will never shine as we are supposed too.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO?

‘I help entrepreneurs and corporations increase revenue by providing strategies and training that prevent employee burnout, high turnover rates and increase job satisfaction.

I am also an inspirational speaker and strategist who help women to discard superwoman syndrome by embracing their inner queen. I do this by teaching self-care strategies and assisting them with following the 4*1 rule.  My book, Radical Wellness Solutions for Women, 10 Strategies for Healing the Overwhelmed Self and Embracing the Inner Queen can be found on Amazon.

You can find me on a daily basis, providing support for my clients, family and community and when not doing that, I am reading or trying a new recipe with my 8-year-old son
