Heartbreak. Some of us are lucky enough to be unscathed by it, and blissfully ignorant to its inevitability (to some degree).

Every minute of our day there are countless people in the world experiencing grief, loss, bad news, sadness, disease, homelessness, abuse, and depression, all of which impact their lives irreparably. These tragic moments will alter the course of their lives forever and require them to navigate uncharted territory and start to build a new ‘normal’.

In the face of heartbreak there are groups of incredible humans who rise up with acts of love. Whether driven by their internal desire to do good in the world; by an understanding born of their own tragedy; or by what they feel is a calling; these people are compelled to help those in need. They may offer compassionate words, sit by our side as we grieve, raise funds for charity, or campaign for awareness, but what they all share is the impact they make upon the world around them. Whatever it is that has been instilled in these incredible humans there is undoubtedly compassion, kindness and love at the center of it.

The 52 Week Love Project has been born as a way to recognise 52 inspiring humans who are giving back to the community, whether in a small way or by creating a movement for change and inspiration. The project is a platform for their stories—why they do what they do—and an opportunity for us mere mortals to find out what inspires them and what keeps them going when challenges or self-doubt assail them.

Each week we will showcase LOVE at its finest and welcome anyone who wants to be part of this fabulous journey. And, perhaps, it will be exactly the inspiration you need to make a change in your own life.

If you have got this far, thank you for taking the time to read this. I would love you to be part of the 52 Week Love Project and I request three simple actions of you:

  1. Read about those who are making a difference in The 52 Week Love Project Newsletter or check into our social platforms to read about it each week. You can find us with #the52weekloveproject
  2. Share this post with others who you think will be interested to hear about incredible humans as we showcase their acts of love
  3. If you know someone who is making a difference, please let me know by getting in touch here  and perhaps we can let that special person know just what an impact they are making

We are not guaranteed or entitled to our tomorrows. We can only work with what we have, but we can use it to make a difference for others. We can all start today.

Acts of love are everywhere in our everyday. Please help me recognise and celebrate them, big or small.
